Privacy

AI Digest respects your privacy. This page explains what data I collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What I Collect

Analytics

I use a few methods to understand how the site is used:

• Google Analytics: collects anonymized visit data (pageviews, traffic sources, device types, approximate location) and sets cookies to recognize returning visitors; advertising features are turned off. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Server-side visit statistics: the server records aggregate data such as page views, referring sites and visitor countries. Visitors are distinguished by a hash of IP and browser information; raw IP addresses are not stored.
• Reading and click events: anonymous interactions (reading depth, shares, outbound clicks) are recorded to improve the content and are not linked to any personal identity.
• Speed measurement: records how quickly pages load and respond. This data is anonymous, uses no cookies and is deleted after 32 days.

Email Subscription

If you subscribe to the newsletter, I collect your email address through Buttondown. Your address is used solely for sending briefings and is not shared with third parties. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Cookies

This site uses only the following cookies:

• Language preference (lang): remembers your language choice (Chinese/English), expires after 1 year, purely functional
• Google Analytics cookies: set by Google for visit analytics

Third-Party Services

This site relies on the following third-party services, each with their own data practices:

Your Choices

• Unsubscribe: every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom
• Clear cookies: remove this site's cookies in your browser settings
• Block analytics: when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, Google Analytics, reading events and speed measurement all stop; the server still counts the page view.
